The Day Eye Bloomed — A Candle Story by Arzen

When a Flower Becomes a Teacher

One quiet evening, Arzen sat by the window with a blank notebook before him.
The pen rested in his hand, yet his thoughts wandered — searching for a spark, a meaning, a shape for the creation he wished to bring to life.

Outside, the world was slowing into silence. The air carried a hush, as if even time itself was pausing.

And then it happened.
His eyes fell upon a single daisy — small, almost shy, swaying gently in the twilight.

What seemed so ordinary at first, soon began to whisper something extraordinary.

🌼 The Secret of the Day’s Eye

At first glance, it was just a flower in the breeze.
But daisies carry a secret.

With dawn’s first breath, they open wide — like an eye awakening to light.
And when darkness falls, they close again — surrendering to rest until the sun calls them back.

Long ago, people named it the “Day’s Eye” — the origin of the word daisy (Etymonline).

And suddenly, Arzen realized: it was never ordinary at all.

🌱 The Deeper Reflection

Are we not like that too?” he thought.

Each morning, our hearts awaken — ready for joy, for mistakes, for lessons, for love.
Each night, they close again — carrying what the day has written into our souls.

But then a truth unfolded, sharper than before:

The daisy does not bloom on its own.
It waits.
It listens.
It surrenders to the sun.

And we? We forget that our breath, our rise, our fall — all happen only by the command of the One who gives Light.

The words of the Qur’an echoed within him:

We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that He is the Truth.
(Surah Fussilat 41:53, Quran.com)

And in that moment, the daisy was no longer a flower.
It became a mirror. A teacher. A reminder.

A Candle Born from a Flower

That evening, The Day Eye Bloomed was born.

Not just wax and wick, but a fragrance carrying meaning:

  • 🌼 Daisy — for purity, renewal, and the innocence hidden in everyday life.

  • 🌌 Umber — for depth, grounding, and the earthy truth that roots us to Allah.

Together, they weave a scent that whispers:

  • Every dawn is a chance to open again.

  • Every detail hides beauty if you pause to see.

And the only true Light is the One that awakens hearts.

🌼 Arzen’s Memory

For Arzen, this candle carries the memory of a blank page, a soft breeze, and a tiny flower that became a door to surrender and reflection.

So when you light it, you’re not just filling your room with fragrance.
You’re practicing remembrance.
Noticing the unnoticed.
Honoring the ordinary.
Surrendering to the rhythm Allah has written for you.

Because just like the daisy, we bloom only by His Light.
