2nd Jummah of Ramadan
Today was the second Jummah of Ramadan.
As Arzen walked back from the mosque, he felt something quietly settling inside him…
Ramadan was flowing fast
fasts, prayers, daily routines, responsibilities everything continued as usual,
yet his heart was still waiting for that peace, that light, that tranquility
for which this sacred month arrives wrapped in Allah’s mercy.
The night felt calm.
City lights were slowly fading.
Arzen adjusted his shawl, spread his prayer mat,
and without preparation, without rehearsed words,
he simply raised his hands.
That moment felt like real worship.
No long speeches.
No complicated words.
No perfect list of duas.
Just a sincere, tired heart
still full of hope in Allah.
And from that heart came a prayer:
“Ya Allah…
Make this Jummah a turning point in my life.
Remove from my heart everything that distances me from You,
and grant me love for everything that brings me closer to You.”
At that moment, he remembered a beautiful supplication of the Prophet ﷺ —
a dua that reconnects the heart directly to Allah:
اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ حُبَّكَ وَحُبَّ مَنْ يُحِبُّكَ وَحُبَّ عَمَلٍ يُقَرِّبُنِي إِلَى حُبِّكَ
“O Allah, I ask You for Your love, the love of those who love You, and the love of actions that bring me closer to Your love.”
(Jami’ al-Tirmidhi 3490)
This is the kind of dua that does not only move the tongue —
it transforms the entire soul.
Because when Allah’s love enters the heart,
sins begin to feel heavy,
worship tastes sweet,
and life slowly becomes lighter.
In that quiet moment, Arzen understood:
Ramadan is not merely about hunger or thirst.
It is the season in which hearts find their way back to Allah.
It is the time when even a small whisper of a dua
can rise and touch the skies of acceptance.
🤲 A Dua for This Blessed Jummah
Ya Allah,
connect our hearts with the Qur’an,
illuminate our lives with prayer,
remove the burden of sins from our hearts,
and keep us close to You even after Ramadan ends.
Include us among those whom You love.
Ameen.
🌙 Second Jummah Reminder
Maybe your most accepted dua today
left your lips with nothing but a tear.
Maybe all you said was:
“Ya Allah… help me.”
And perhaps Allah told the angels:
“Write it down accepted.”
Jummah is made of moments like these.
Ramadan is made of opportunities like these.
And your dua…
may have already reached its destination tonight.
